• FCC Won't Fine NBC in Bono Vulgarity Case
  Alas, you had to know it was too good to last. The FCC is going to reverse itself and rule that you can't say "fucking" on network television, even if it is fleeting and not referring to sexual intercourse. And speaking of obscenity: a sample of folks who wrote into the FCC about disliking the Super Bowl half-time show and a sample of folks who wrote in about not finding it obscene.
  
  
• Vandellas pair lose royalties court fight
  This is one of those stories that I find both humorous and tragic. Martha & The Vandellas members Rosalind Holmes and Annette Sterling sued Motown for past-due royalties. They won, but the agreement they signed with their attorneys gave the lawyers a) half the settlement and b) a chunk of future royalties. It was that second part that was the bone of contention here. Screwed by a lawyer once, shame on the lawyer. Screwed by a lawyer twice....need I continue?

• It?s Not Phair
  Ex-Zuzu's Petals lead singer Laurie Lindeen finally listens to Exile in Guyville and (allegedly) gets over her jealous-of-Liz-Phair issues. I'm not buying it, but it is a good read.
  
  
• Sonic Youth 'Nurses' New Album
  Sonic Youth Nurse is due in stores in June. "According to a source, the record makes further inroads into the classic-rock sounds Sonic Youth explored on Murray Street..." Classic-rock sounds??? As we used to say in our slacker days: Whatever, dude.
